Given the status of the Virginia COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions imposed on nonessential businesses, the Fair Board has determined that it is not feasible to move forward with the 2020 Fair. Although most of the state has moved into Phase 2, there is too much uncertainty in the recovery process. The potential risk to the public as well as the potential for significant financial loss is great.
We are very pleased to have the continued support of the community and we strive to be there for our sponsors, friends and most importantly the youth and families of Fauquier county. Many of our regular Fair sponsors have graciously donated funds to continue our efforts even without a Fair. The cost of maintaining the Fairgrounds and buildings does not go away when we don’t have a fair. Bills continue to come in and with the lack of a 2019 Fair, the loss of rentals and now no 2020 fair we rely solely on sponsors and our fundraising to stay alive. The Board is prepared to open the buildings and grounds to rentals as soon as we are permitted. We greatly appreciate our dedicated sponsors and we thank the community for standing by us -we need you now more than ever. Please continue to support the Fauquier Fair, we plan to return in 2021 and look forward to future community events.
